Por indicação do poeta, tradutor e crítico Nelson Ascher, descobri há tempos a coluna de Spengler, que publica no jornal Asia Times. Em um texto recentemente publicado, há este trecho antológico, um pequenino conselho dele a um recém-empossado presidente de uma grande potência ocidental:
Leiam as outras colunas de Spengler. Não aconselhável para os fracos de coração.
